concern this morning if you're headed out the door, in the valley, a neat live shot starting out in the embarcadero, doesn't that look peaceful, very quiet, early on. i think that's going to stay that way into the afternoon. 37 degrees santa rosa. they're reporting fog. visibility less than a quarter mile in livermore. we are planning on the fog beginning to lift this morning and by the afternoon becoming sunny and bright temperatures fairly mild, especially over the weekend, lot of sunshine, high pressure building in. offshore wind building in especially on sunday. and that should bring the mild temperatures. the rain line is heading well to the north. keeping things nice and dry through the weekend. that's a big contrast to last weekend. 60s and tuly fog it will be a lot easier to get up there when the fog lifts. we are starting off with dense fog early on. that could give away a lot of sunshine, a couple passing high clouds and looking like a pretty good day of it. the weekend, things settle down nicely. a lot of sunshine coming your way. sunshine in the san jose today. 60 in san mateo. 69 degre

you can see the embarcadero in san francisco. so it is a little cool outside even though we have a nice dry break coming throughout the day today. once again no need for any umbrellas. but a jacket probably a good idea. 41 right now in concord, 45 in oakland, 48 degrees in san francisco. so it's because of this high pressure that is what's keeping us so dry for the next 24 hours or so. but we are watching this low and that's going to bring us some rain. looks like probably friday afternoon-ish is when we're probably going to get hit with some wet weather. in the meantime this afternoon's highs a lot of low to mid-50s across the bay area. and yeah, so not going to warm up much by later on this afternoon and then a chance of rain returns as soon as tomorrow. so we'll show you that seven- day forecast coming up. in the meantime, traffic-wise, we have a new situation developing on the great highway. we just got word from the police department that the southbound great highway is shut down between lincoln way and sloat boulevard. with
